The ‘cold press’ extraction procedure for extracting oil from seeds is referred to by Kachi Ghani. To extract  mustard   oil, mustard seeds are crushed at low temperatures, preserving the oil’s inherent characteristics, antioxidants, and essential oils. The essential oil of kachi ghani mustard oil serves as a preservative and has antibacterial and antioxidant effects.

Kacchi ghani, or just Ghani, was made of wood. There used to be a wooden mortar and pestle almost the size of a tree trunk, coned on one side. The coned side was placed in mortar, and a rope was tied to the top of the pestle, which was then pulled by an ox, which went round and round pushing and turning the pestle in the mortar. The oil seeds were fed into the mortar, and because to the weight of the pestle, the seeds were crushed and oil was extracted.

The seeds are placed in a cylindrical container, and pressure is applied to extract the oil. The pressing process is performed at room temperature, which helps retain the natural nutrients, flavors, and aroma of the oil.

Filtering :- After extraction, the oil is filtered to remove any leftover solid particles or contaminants. This procedure guarantees that the oil is free of impurities. To separate any sediments that may have passed through the filtering process, the filtered oil is allowed to settle for a period of time. This aids in the production of transparent oil.

Packaging :- The final step involves packaging the Kacchi Ghani oil in suitable containers, such as glass bottles or  food -grade containers, to preserve its quality and freshness. Proper labeling and sealing are done to ensure product information and prevent any leakage.

Step 5. Filling and packing the oil

For example, a 2023 study published in the journal Nature found that people who switched to a healthy, longevity-associated diet long term were more likely to live over a decade longer. The researchers said this was likely because the participants ate more whole grains, nuts, and fruit, and cut down on sugary drinks and processed meats .

Roizen said that even the smallest additions to a person's diet could have a positive effect on their health. He shared the seven foods he eats each week.

Roizen has a tablespoon of olive oil every day, he said. A 2022 study published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology found that people who consumed more than half a tablespoon of olive oil a day had a 19% lower risk of dying from cardiovascular disease , a 17% lower risk of dying from cancer, and a 29% lower risk of dying from a neurodegenerative disease. Plus, replacing margarine, butter, mayonnaise, and dairy fats with olive oil appeared to lower the risk of dying by up to 34%.

The authors suggested that this could be because of olive oil's anti-inflammatory and  antioxidant properties  or because people who consumed more olive oil also tended to be more active, were less likely to smoke, and ate more fruits and vegetables.

Salmon and trout

Eating fish once or twice a week was linked to a lower risk of dying from any cause in one 2022 study published in the European Journal of Nutrition. A 2018 study by researchers at China's Zhejiang University School of Medicine and the US's National Cancer Institute had similar results. It found that participants who ate at least 227 grams of fish a week, per the 2015-20 Dietary Guidelines for Americans, had a 10% lower risk of dying from cardiovascular disease, cancer, or Alzheimer's disease.

The current US dietary guidelines recommend people eat fish like salmon and trout because they are high in vitamin D, omega-3 fatty acids — which are important for heart health, providing energy, and building cells — and low in methylmercury, a toxic heavy metal found in fish.

Dark chocolate

With dark chocolate, it's not hard to eat "a little bit every day," as Roizen recommended.

Dark chocolate has been linked to lower blood pressure, lower cholesterol, and a reduced risk of heart disease, BI previously reported.

Dr. Florence Comite, an endocrinologist and precision-medicine specialist, previously told BI that she counted her daily square of dark chocolate as a supplement because of the antioxidants it contains.

Like Comite with dark chocolate, Roizen sees mushrooms as a supplement and eats them at least five times a week.

"One of my favorite lunches is the MLT," he said. "Instead of a BLT (bacon, lettuce, and tomato), you have a mushroom, lettuce, and tomato, which is absolutely healthy and tastes magnificent."

Mushrooms contain ergothioneine, which researchers from Pennsylvania State University dubbed a "longevity vitamin" because of its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. A 2020 study by researchers from Lund University in Sweden linked ergothioneine to a lower risk for coronary-artery disease and cardiometabolic disease for the same reasons.

A 2023 study published in the Journal of the American Heart Association found associations between eating two servings of avocado a week and a lower risk of coronary heart disease and cardiovascular disease. Avocados contain monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats, which can help prevent cardiovascular disease.

Cardiovascular disease is the No. 1 cause of death and disability worldwide, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Cauliflower

Roizen makes a "cauliflower creamer" by blending the vegetable with olive oil and using it as a spread.

Researchers wrote in a 2021 review of studies published in Frontiers in Pharmacology that cruciferous vegetables, including cauliflower, had been linked to lower cancer risk and the prevention and treatment of other chronic diseases, such as cardiometabolic disorders, Alzheimer's disease, depression, and musculoskeletal disorders.

Tribe and environmental groups urge Wisconsin officials to rule against relocating pipeline

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A tribal leader and conservationists urged state officials Thursday to reject plans to relocate part of an aging northern Wisconsin pipeline, warning that the threat of a catastrophic spill would still exist along the new route.

About 12 miles (19 kilometers) of the Enbridge Line 5 pipeline runs across the Bad River Band of Lake Superior Chippewa’s reservation. The pipeline transports up to 23 million gallons (about 87 million liters) of oil and natural gas daily from the city of Superior, Wisconsin, through Michigan to Sarnia, Ontario.

The tribe sued Enbridge in 2019 to force the company to remove the pipeline from the reservation, arguing the 71-year-old line is prone to a catastrophic spill and land easements allowing Enbridge to operate on the reservation expired in 2013.

Enbridge has proposed a 41-mile (66 kilometer) reroute around the reservation’s southern border. The project requires permits from multiple government agencies, including the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Part of the permitting process calls for the Wisconsin Coastal Management Program, a division within Gov. Tony Evers’ Department of Administration, to rule on whether the reroute complies with state coastal protection policies.

Bad River Chair Robert Blanchard told division officials during a public hearing on the question that the reroute would run adjacent to the reservation and any spill could still affect reservation waters for years to come.

Other opponents, including representatives from the National Wildlife Federation and the Sierra Club, warned that the new route’s construction could harm the environment by exacerbating erosion and runoff. The new route would leave scores of waterways vulnerable in a spill, they added.

They also argued that Enbridge has a poor safety record, pointing to a rupture in Enbridge’s Line 6B in southern Michigan in 2010 that released 800,000 gallons (about 3 million liters) of oil into the Kalamazoo River system.

Supporters countered that the reroute could create hundreds of jobs for state construction workers and engineers. The pipeline delivers energy across the region, and there are no feasible alternatives to the reroute proposal, Emily Pritzkow, executive director of the Wisconsin Building Trades Council, said during the hearing.

Enbridge spokesperson Juli Kellner said in an email to The Associated Press on Thursday evening that the most likely effect construction might have is increased sediment in waterways, which she said would dissipate within days of construction ending.

Millions of customers across the upper Midwest rely on the pipeline for energy, she said. The line has operated safely on the Bad River reservation since 1953, and the likelihood of a spill is remote, Kellner said.

It is unclear when a ruling might come. Department of Administration spokesperson Tatyana Warrick said it is not clear how a non-compatibility finding would affect the project because so many other government agencies are involved in issuing permits.

The company has only about two years to complete the reroute. U.S. District Judge William Conley last summer ordered Enbridge to shut down the portion of pipeline crossing the reservation within three years and pay the tribe more than $5 million for trespassing. An Enbridge appeal is pending in a federal appellate court in Chicago.

Michigan’s Democratic attorney general, Dana Nessel, filed a lawsuit in 2019 seeking to shut down twin portions of Line 5 that run beneath the Straits of Mackinac, the narrow waterways that connect Lake Michigan and Lake Huron. Nessel argued that anchor strikes could rupture the line, resulting in a devastating spill. That lawsuit is still pending in a federal appellate court.

Michigan regulators in December approved the company’s $500 million plan to encase the portion of the pipeline beneath the straits in a tunnel to mitigate risk. The plan is awaiting approval from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Licenses And Certification  

You need many types of licenses and certification before starting this business because you can sell your oil in the market only after getting the license and certification.

There are two types of licenses related to food items are given by the Government of India. One license is given by Bureau of Indian Standards and the other license is given by FSSAI. Other than this, the state where you are starting this business, you may have to get many types of licenses from the government of that state.  

Oil extraction process  

Oil extraction is done in several stages and with the help of machine you can extract oil from any seeds.  

1) Seed selection 

The seed must be perfect from which you want to extract the oil. If they are you own cultivate seeds then look before placing them into machine that they are not broken.

If you are buying seeds from market or farmer, make sure that seeds are not broken, nor dry, and select only those seeds which are of good quality.

2) Pre-cleaning and Decortications 

Whenever you harvest seeds from plants, many types of small pebbles, soil , dust and other small things are also found in the seeds. It is necessary to do pre-cleaning because soil and small pebbles will be crushed with seeds, which will deteriorate the quality of oil. Therefore, before extracting oil from seeds, you have to remove these types of things.

After removing stones and soil, you have to also remove the straw present in the seeds.

You can get these seeds cleaned by hand or you can also clean them with the help of a machine.

3)  Conditioning of the seeds  

This step is important because conditioning the seeds removes more oil and in this process seeds are put inside the rollers. The seed cells absorb the oil due to passing through the rollers and micro oil droplets are united in them, due to which the oil can be extracted from the seeds easily and fast.  

4) Heating  

To eliminate the various bacteria you have to heat the seed. Keep in mind that each seed requires different moisture conditions and temperatures. 

5) Oil extraction  

You have now put seeds into the machine and they are grinded by the machine. The oil that comes out of it during grinding, is collected in storage tank.

6) Filtration 

Some residues are still in the extracted oil. So, after the oil is removed, it is sieved so that it can be completely cleaned. Even after cleaning the oil, many types of chemical substances are present in it, which are cleaned within the chemical process.

सरसों की तेल मिल कैसे शुरू करें। Mustard Oil Extraction Business in Hindi.

Mustard oil extraction से हमारा आशय सरसों के बीज से तेल निकालने की प्रक्रिया से है | सरसों के बीज से तेल निकालने की प्रक्रिया प्राचीन काल से चली आ रही है । यह कृषि पर आधारित एक बेहद प्रचलित बिज़नेस है, सरसों के तेल का उपयोग लोगों द्वारा खाने पीने की वस्तुएं बनाने एवं दीये इत्यादि जलाने हेतु भी किया जाता है।

प्राचीनकाल में ग्रामीण इलाकों में कृषि उत्पादों जैसे तिलहन, सरसों, मूंगफली, सोयाबीन इत्यादि से तेल निकालने की प्रक्रिया को परम्परागत रूप से स्थापित कोल्हू मशीन के माध्यम से किया जाता था । जिसमे एक मवेशी जैसे बैल के कंधे पर एक लकड़ी का फट्टा रखकर और उस फट्टे को कोल्हू मशीन से जोड़कर बैल को गोल गोल घुमाया जाता था ।

इन्हीं सब Oil Seeds में से एक का नाम है Mustard Oil Seeds अर्थात सरसों के तेल के बीज जिनसे बड़े पैमाने पर खाद्य तेल उत्पादित किया जाता है इसका उपयोग उत्तरी एवं केन्द्रीय भारत में अधिकतर तौर पर खाद्य पदार्थों को बनाने में किया जाता है। इसके अलावा सरसों के तेल का उपयोग व्यवसायिक या घरेलू तौर पर आचार बनाने में भी किया जाता है इस प्रक्रिया से उत्पादित Oil Cake का उपयोग पशुओं के खाने में किया जाता है।

जिन घरों में खुशबू वाले तेलों को   बालों पर लगाने के लिए नहीं ख़रीदा जाता अर्थात ऐसे लोग जिनकी आर्थिक स्थिति कमजोर होने के कारण वे बालों पर लगाने वाले खुशबू तेलों को नहीं खरीद पाते वे बालों पर लगाने के लिए भी सरसों के तेल का ही इस्तेमाल करते हैं ।

जहाँ तक सरसों तेल के औद्योगिक उपयोग की बात है तो आचार उद्योगों द्वारा इसका उपयोग किया जाता है । इसलिए हर घर में इसके बहुमुखी उपयोग होने के कारण और आचार उद्योग द्वारा इसका उपयोग होने के कारण भविष्य में भी इसकी निरंतर मांग बने रहने की संभावना है ।

सरसों के तेल के मिल को शुरू करने के लिए भी आपको कई तरह की प्रक्रियाओं से होकर गुजरने की आवश्यकता होती है। लेकिन वर्तमान में दूर सुदूर इलाकों में जहाँ पर सरसों की पैदावार अच्छी होती है वहाँ पर कोल्हू के बैल देखने को मिल जायेंगे।

लेकिन मशीनो के आगमन और उनकी काम करने की तीव्रता के कारण धीरे धीरे ये लुप्त होते जा रहे हैं। तो आइये जानते हैं की कोई इच्छुक उद्यमी खुद का सरसों की तेल की मिल कैसे स्थापित कर सकता है।

कच्चे माल की उपलब्धता का पता करें

जैसा की हम सब जानते हैं की सरसों के तेल का निर्माण सरसों के बीजों से होता है जिन्हें खेतों में उगाया जाता है। यदि आप किसी ऐसे इलाके में रहते हैं जहाँ पर सरसों की खेती की जाती है। तो आप वहाँ पर तेल मिल स्थापित करने पर विचार कर सकते हैं।

लेकिन उससे पहले इस बात पर रिसर्च अवश्य कर लें की क्या उस एरिया में सरसों का उत्पादन इतना हो पाता है की वह आपकी तेल की मिल की साल भर की कच्चे माल की आवश्यकता को पूर्ण कर पाने में सक्षम है।

यदि उस एरिया में इतना उत्पादन नहीं हो पाता है, तो आप बाकी का कच्चा माल कहाँ से खरीदेंगे। आम तौर पर ऐसा माना जाता है की जिस एरिया में जिस चीज का उत्पादन अधिक होता है वह चीज वहाँ पर उचित दामों में आसानी से प्राप्त हो जाती है ।

तेल की मिल की साइज़ का निर्णय से आशय उसकी उत्पादन क्षमता से है। एक आंकड़े के मुताबिक सरसों के बीजों से लगभग 30% तक तेल निकलता है। इसका मतलब यह हुआ की 100 किलो सरसों से लगभग 30 किलो सरसों तेल की प्राप्ति की जा सकती है ।

अब यदि उद्यमी महीने में केवल 5000 किलो सरसों तेल का उत्पाद भी करता है तो उसे इसके लिए लगभग 16000 किलो से अधिक सरसों के बीजो की आवश्यकता होगी की आवश्यकता हो सकती है।  

इसके अलावा उद्यमी को कुछ प्योरीफायर एजेंट और अन्य additive की भी आवश्यकता हो सकती है । ऐसे में उद्यमी को इस बात का निर्णय लेना होगा की वह किस उत्पादन क्षमता की आयल मिल लगाना चाहता है ।

यह इसलिए जरुरी हो जाता है क्योंकि जब उद्यमी इस बात का निर्णय लेगा उसके बाद ही वह उसके मुताबिक मशीनरी, उपकरण, कच्चा माल, कर्मचारी इत्यादि के बारे में भी निर्णय ले पायेगा।  

सस्ती जगह पर जमीन का प्रबंध करें

जगह की आवश्यकता कितनी होगी यह भी इसी बात पर निर्भर करता है की उद्यमी किस स्तर पर तेल का उत्पादन करना चाहता है। एक छोटे प्लांट के लिए 700-900 वर्ग फीट जगह भी पर्याप्त रहती है।

अच्छी बात यह है की जरुरी नहीं है की आप किसी भीड़ भाड़ या बाज़ार के नज़दीक ही इस तरह का काम करने के लिए जगह तलाशें। बल्कि जहाँ भी आपको किराये पर सस्ती जगह या कोई बिल्डिंग मिल रही हो, आप वहीँ पर इस तरह के काम के लिए जगह का प्रबंध कर सकते हैं ।

लेकिन वहाँ पर सड़क, बिजली, पानी जैसी आधारभूत सुविधाओं का होना नितांत आवश्यक है । इसके अलावा किराये पर ली जाने वाली जगह का रेंट अग्रीमेंट या लीज अग्रीमेंट बनाना भी जरुरी हो जाता है।

छोटे स्तर पर इस बिजनेस को कम औपचारिकताओं के साथ शुरू करने के लिए आप अपने व्यवसाय को एकल स्वामित्व (Proprietorship Firm)  के तौर पर रजिस्टर करा सकते हैं। और बिलिंग, इनवॉइस एवं अन्य टैक्स सम्बन्धी कार्यों के लिए जीएसटी रजिस्ट्रेशन भी करा सकते हैं।

भारत में एक रजिस्टर्ड व्यवसाय के पास व्यवसाय के नाम से पैन कार्ड होना भी आवश्यक है इसके अलावा वित्तीय लेन देन के लिए आपको एक करेंट अकाउंट की भी आवश्यकता होती है।

चूँकि सरसों का तेल खाद्य तेल होता है, इसलिए उद्यमी को FSSAI License की भी आवश्यकता होती है। और यदि उद्यमी खुद के ब्रांड के तहत सरसों का तेल बेचना चाहता है तो वह ट्रेडमार्क रजिस्ट्रेशन भी करा सकता है।

इन सबके अलावा उद्यमी को स्थानीय स्तर पर भी ट्रेड लाइसेंस इत्यादि की आवश्यकता हो सकती है।    

जरुरी मशीनरी उपकरण इंस्टाल करें

मशीनरी और उपकरणों को इंस्टाल करने के लिए कई तरह के बिजली पैनलों और उपकरणों की आवश्यकता हो सकती है। मशीनरी और उपकरणों को इंस्टाल करते समय सुरक्षा के मानकों का अनुसरण किया जाना अति आवश्यक होता है।

क्योंकि जिस एक्सपेलर में सरसों के दानों को निचोड़ा जाता है उसमें कोई भी अंग फँस जाने पर बड़ी घटना हो सकती है।

आम तौर पर मशीनरी विक्रेताओं द्वारा इंस्टालेशन प्लान समझा दिया जाता है। और हो सकता है की इसे प्रॉपर ढंग से करने के लिए वे उद्यमी से कुछ एक्स्ट्रा चार्जेज भी लें। लेकिन यह सब बातें डील का ही हिस्सा होती हैं।     

जरुरी स्टाफ की नियुक्ति करें

यद्यपि उद्यमी को एक छोटे से सेटअप में बहुत अधिक स्टाफ को काम पर रखने की आवश्यकता नहीं होती है । लेकिन कम से कम एक मशीन ऑपरेटर, दो हेल्पर, एक अकाउंटेंट कम सुपरवाईजर, और दो सेल्समेन की आवश्यकता उद्यमी को होती ही है।

यद्यपि बिजनेस के शुरूआती दौर में कुशल एवं अनुभवी कर्मचारियों को काम पर रखना पैसों की कमी के चलते संभव नहीं होता है । लेकिन कोशिश करें की कम से कम मशीन ऑपरेटर तो आप अनुभवी ही नियुक्त करें।   

तेल का निर्माण शुरू करें  

अब जब उद्यमी द्वारा खुद की सरसों तेल की मिल शुरू करने सम्बन्धी सभी प्रक्रियाएं पूर्ण कर ली गई हों, तो अब उसे तेल का ट्रायल निर्माण शुरू कर देना चाहिए।

इसमें कोई दो राय नहीं की देश में सरसों की तेल की माँग बहुत ज्यादा है, लेकिन लोग अब भी स्थापित ब्रांड पर ज्यादा भरोसा जताते हैं । इसलिए उद्यमी को चाहिए की वह अपने ब्रांड नाम के तहत ही सरसों के तेल का निर्माण करे ।

सरसों तेल की मिल के लिए मशीनरी और कच्चा माल :

इस तरह के बिजनेस में मुख्य रूप से उपयोग में लायी जाने वाली मशीनरी एवं उपकरणों की लिस्ट निम्नवत है ।

• तेल निकालने की मशीन (Oil Expeller Machine)
• पंप और फ़िल्टर कपडे के साथ फ़िल्टर प्रेस (Filter press with plates plunger pump and filler cloth)
• तेल को एकत्रित करने का टैंक (Oil Storage Tank )
• तेल को तोलने की मशीन (Electronic Weighing Scale)
• अन्य उपकरण जैसे सीलिंग मशीन, स्टम्पिंग मशीन इत्यादि ( equipment & Tools such as sealing machine, Box stamping machine etc)
• इलेक्ट्रिक उपकरण जैसे मीटर, स्टार्टर, स्विच इत्यादि (Electrical Accessories: Electric Meter, Starter, Switch & others)

वैसे तो सरसों तेल की मिल स्थापित करने में Raw materials के तौर पर मुख्य रूप से काम आने वाली वस्तु सरसों के बीज हैं, इसके अलावा कुछ सहायक कच्चे माल का भी इस्तेमाल होता है जिनकी लिस्ट निम्नवत है ।

• सरसों के बीज (Mustard Seeds)
• खाली टिन के डिब्बे जिनमे सरसों का तेल भरा जायेगा (Empty Tins)
• खाद्य केमिकल एवं पैकेजिंग मटेरियल

सरसों से तेल निकालने की प्रक्रिया (Mustard Oil Extraction Process in hindi):

यद्यपि सरसों का तेल निकालने की प्रक्रिया में अलग अलग विधियों का उपयोग सरसों के बीज से तेल निकालने के लिए किया जाता है, लेकिन जो सबसे प्रचलित विधि है उस प्रक्रिया को अपनाकर सरसों के बीज से तेल एवं Oil Cake का निर्माण किया जाता है ।

सरसों के तेल का उपयोग मनुष्यों द्वारा अपने खाने में तो Oil Cake का उपयोग मवेशियों के खाने में किया जाता है। तो आइये एक नज़र डालते हैं इसके निष्कर्षण प्रक्रिया पर ।

सर्वप्रथम इस Extraction process में उपयोग में लायी जाने वाली सरसों के बीजों को धूप में अच्छी तरह सूखा लिया जाता है यह प्रक्रिया इसलिए महत्वपूर्ण होती है ताकि तेल निकालने की प्रक्रिया में सरसों के बीज से पानी को अच्छी तरह हटा लिया जाय । उसके बाद सरसों के सूखे बीजों को अच्छी तरह साफ़ कर लिया जाता है ताकि धूल, मिटटी, कंकड़, पत्थर बीज के साथ Extraction Machine में न पहुँच पायें ।

उसके बाद Extraction Process से पहले सरसों के बीजों को गरम कर लिया जाता है यह Heating Process जहाँ बीजों की मात्रा से तेल प्राप्ति में बढ़ोत्तरी करता है वही Oil Cake में Protein की मात्रा को बढाने में भी मदद करता है । इसके तुरंत बाद सरसों के बीजों को Oil Expeller Machine में डाला जाता है और इस मशीन में इन बीजों को कुचल दिया जाता है, उसके बाद लगभग एक घंटे तक इन कुचले हुए बीजों को मशीन की सहायता से अच्छी तरह दबा लिया जाता है ।

हालांकि दबाने का समय सरसों के बीज की मात्रा पर निर्भर करता है । यह Crushing और Pressing प्रक्रिया तब तक चलती रहती है जब तक सरसों के बीज से पूरी तरह से तेल न निकाल जाय इस प्रक्रिया में लगभग 30 से 37% तक तेल निकाला जा सकता है ।

बाकी बचा हुआ अवशेष Oil Cake कहलाता है जिसे मवेशियों के खाने में उपयोग में लाया जा सकता है या कुछ डेरी फार्म से जुड़े उद्यमियों को बेचा जा सकता है । इस प्रक्रिया में अंतिम स्टेप सरसों के बीज से निकले तेल को फ़िल्टर अर्थात इसमें से अशुद्धियाँ दूर करने का होता है ।

अशुद्धियाँ दूर करके सरसों के तेल को खाली बोतलों, टिन के डिब्बों, खाली पाउचो में पैकेजिंग करके बाज़ार में बेचकर अपनी कमाई की जाती है । सरसों के तेल की मिल स्थापित कर रहे उद्यमी को सरसों के तेल का उत्पादन PFA Act में उल्लेखित गुणवत्ता मानको को ध्यान में रखते हुए करना पड़ेगा । इसलिए उद्यमी को हो सकता है की Agmark  या ISI Certification के अलावा FSSAI License की भी आवश्यकता हो ।

सरसों तेल मिल शुरू करने में आने वाली लागत

सरसों की तेल मिल स्थापित करने में आने वाली लागत पूरी तरह से इस बात पर निर्भर करेगी की उद्यमी कितनी उत्पादन क्षमता का प्लांट स्थापित करना चाहता है।

लेकिन एक ऐसा प्लांट जिसमें साल में लगभग 115 टन सरसों के तेल का उत्पाद होता हो उसे शुरू करने में निम्नलिखित खर्चे शामिल हो सकते हैं।  

जहाँ तक इस बिजनेस (Mustard Oil Extraction) से होने वाली कमाई का सवाल है । यह इस बात पर निर्भर करता है की उद्यमी उत्पादित उत्पादन में से कितना उत्पादण किस कीमत पर बेच पाता है।

सरसों की तेल की मिल के उत्पादों में सिर्फ सरसों का तेल ही शामिल नहीं होता है, बल्कि सरसों की खली/केक जिसका इस्तेमाल जानवरों के भोजन के तौर पर किया जाता है। यह इस बिजनेस का सह उत्पाद है।
