Human beings have been given all facilities to maintain a healthy and organized lifestyle. Good health can be maintained by a proper diet and regular exercise. A morning walk is one of the major components that are necessary for one to keep their body healthy.

In fact, any walk for some distance can reduce successfully the bad elements in our body and can cure us of many diseases. We often feel lazy and disoriented, demotivated to work and continue our daily lives. A morning walk or any walk can be an instant stress buster and can give us much relief from mental and physical disorientation.

Waking up in the morning and taking a walk down the empty streets is proven to be the greatest pacifier. A morning walk is required now by all of us. Earlier when our parents and grandparents were young, they got ample time to take long walks down the clean roads. But today the new generation is facing pollution, deforestation, masonry buildings, and excessive urbanization, all of which are leading to a lack of clean air and spaces for walks.

Also, the suffocating lifestyle that we regularly face leads us to the irregularity of foods and habits. We quickly develop dangerous diseases. But all can be cured if we pledge to take a small walk every morning and try to make ourselves healthy.

Health is wealth. This is the most beautiful line we have heard in our childhood. It is true when we come to realize our modern lifestyle. It has given us several gadgets for our chores. However, all these machines have turned us into human robots. We hardly do any tasks manually. Life has become lazier than our predecessors. So gradually we are getting several physical and mental disorders. But if we try to make a routine of our life, then we can achieve a far better result. 

Taking a morning walk every day can reduce these health issues and keep us happy and healthy. Every morning if we take some strolls in a nearby park or on the streets, then we can maintain good health. A morning walk is a significant form of exercise that helps us to maintain our health without any cost. All we need is a quiet and clean place, clean air to breathe, and a small watch to keep track of how much we are walking or often jogging. 

Earlier when our parents and grandparents used to take a morning walk, then the environment was so pure and pollution-free. However, excess urbanization, deforestation, global warming, and the building of several tall buildings, all of these have led to pollution. Hence lack of pure air to breathe and a little bit of clean space is unavailable now. Still within that if as a society we can manage a little space for children to play and other people to have a morning walk, then it will be of immense importance. 

There is no denying how a morning walk can help people get rid of their ailments. Nowadays due to pollution and a stressed lifestyle, people hardly get enough time to exercise. Nor can they maintain a healthy diet and often get inclined towards junk foods.

These lead to obesity, gastrointestinal problems, cardiac, muscular, and nervous diseases, and psychological impairments. If a person makes a routine to have a walk every morning for even 10 minutes, then it can easily keep him happy for the rest of the day. Taking walks is highly prescribed by doctors where a larger population of the country engages in office work and that creates lethargy. Hence a daily dose of a morning walk can cure anyone of the earlier symptoms of any fatal disease.

Creating a good habit is the best decision in life. Anything done for the well-being of the personal lifestyle and health is important for mankind. A morning walk is one of those essential habits that enable people to maintain a strict body, a healthy lifestyle, and also a good approach towards others. If one’s own body is well built and managed through regular walks, then he can achieve anything in life.

It reduces tension, stress, and harmful elements in the body. Doctors nowadays prescribe morning walk for all because of the stressed lifestyle, where all of us have huge intakes of junk foods. So a daily walk of 10 minutes can reduce many critical health issues.

It is not easy to leave the bed early in the morning. I normally go to sleep around 11 p.m. My father is a very hard taskmaster. He wakes me up early in the morning and starts teaching me mathematics. Once I asked him about the advantages of a morning walk. In reply he asked me to dress up in shorts and get ready for a morning walk.

Our locality is very famous for its parks. I was surprised to see so many people having a walk in the park. Cool breeze was blowing. The green leaves of the trees were whispering along with the wind. The birds had left their nests and were flying around in every direction. The sunrise was a glorious scene. It was pleasant to see the first rays of the sun touching the earth, initially, the sun looked like an orange but gradually, it covered itself with beautiful beams.

In one corner of the park, children were playing with a small football. Some young boys were running in a circle. There were others who were practising various exercises. In another corner, a yoga teacher was teaching asans. The .learners were raising their hands to salute the sun. In the end he asked them to laugh. All of them laughed so loudly that I could not control my own laughter.

A flag was fluttering in one corner. Some young and old persons saluted the flag and sang a patriotic song. All of them were wearing white shirts and khaki shorts. They all belonged to the RSS and were learning martial arts.

My father asked me to take two rounds of the whole park. It was thrilling to run a few steps but it was not easy for me to complete two rounds. After running a few steps, I returned to my father and told him that there was little time left for the study of mathematics. My father agreed and we returned home. I was between the devil and the deep sea – learning mathematics and running a race.

However, I felt relaxed after the morning walk and I am planning to make it a habit from now on.

सुबह हवा में ताजगी होती है । प्रकृति नई अंगड़ाई लेती प्रतीत होती है । संसार रात भर के विश्राम के बाद नई ताजगी और उमंग से युक्त होता है । प्रात: कालीन किरणों में अद्‌भुत ऊर्जा होती है । बागों में कलियाँ खिलकर फूल का रूप धारण कर लेती हैं! घास पर ओस के ठंडे कण दिखाई देते हैं । प्रकृति के अनुपम रूप की शोभा देखते ही बनती है । हजारों लोग स्वास्थ्य लाभ के लिए निकल पड़ते हैं । किसान अपने खेतों की मेड़ों पर चहलकदमी करते हैं । कुछ लोग तालाब या बाग-बगीचे का चक्कर लगाते हैं । शहरों में भी अनेक पार्क हैं । यहाँ बच्चे, युवा और वृद्ध एक साथ सैर का आनंद उठाते हैं ।

पर आलसी लोगों की बात अलग है । उन्हें सूर्योदय के समय जगने की आदत नहीं है । वे रात में देर से सोते हैं और आठ-नौ बजे तक ही उठ पाते हैं । उन्हें प्रात: काल की सैर के बारे में कुछ भी ज्ञात नहीं । जब उन्हें तरह-तरह की बीमारियाँ घेर लेती हैं, जब उन्हें मानसिक तनाव और परेशानियों का सामना करना पड़ता है तब उनकी नींद टूटती है । लेकिन जब जागो तभी सवेरा…..अभी भी कुछ नहीं बिगड़ा इसलिए सुबह उठो, मुँह-हाथ धोओ और सैर पर निकल पड़ी । जरा सा चले नहीं कि आलस्य मिटा । थोड़ी ही देर में शरीर स्फूर्तिवान हो उठा ।

कुछ रहस्य है सुबह जागने में जो शरीर की अनेक व्याधियाँ नष्ट हो जाती हैं । पेट साफ रहता है तो चित्त में भी प्रसन्नता आती है । सैर से भूख भी अच्छी लगती है । फेफड़ों में ताजी हवा का प्रवेश होता है । शरीर का अच्छा-खासा व्यायाम हो जाता है । दिन भर मन प्रसन्न रहता है, हर काम में आनंद आता है । काम करने में थकावट कम होती है । व्यक्ति की कार्यक्षमता बढ़ती है तो उसकी आमदनी में भी बढ़ोतरी होती है ।

सुबह की सैर को निकले तो प्रकृति के नए-नए रूप के दर्शन हुए । चिड़ियों ने कलरव करते हुए लोगों का स्वागत किया । गर्मियों में ठंडी हवा के झोंकों से तन-मन पुलकित हो उठा । आसमान में उगते सूर्य को नमस्कार करके लोगों ने शक्ति के अजस्त्र श्रोत को धन्यवाद दिया । बाल अरुण को देखकर मन में उत्साह का संचार हुआ । बागों में पहुँचे तो फूलों पर मँडराती तितलियों के दर्शन हुए । कोयल ने मधुर तान छेड़ी तो कर्णप्रिय ध्वनि से मन गद्‌गद् होने लगा । कतारों में पेड़-पौधों को देखकर किसे हर्ष न हुआ होगा । हरी- भरी मखमली दूब पर पाँव रखकर किसने सुख न पाया होगा । फूलों की खुशबू से किसकी साँसों में ताजगी न आई होगी ।

थोड़ा चले, थोड़ी दौड़ लगा ली । कुछ ने खुली जगह पर हल्की कसरत कर ली । पहलवानों ने मुगदर उठा लिया । बच्चों के हाथों में बड़ी सी गेंद थी । अतिवृद्ध लाठियों के सहारे पग बढ़ा रहे थे । खिलाड़ी पोशाकें पहने अपनी फिटनेस बढ़ाने में व्यस्त थे । कुछ स्थूलकाय लोगों ने अपना मोटापा घटाने की ठान ली थी । गृहणियों ने सोचा, दिन भर घर में ही रहना है कुछ देर सैर कर ली जाए । कुछ तो एक कदम आगे बढ्‌कर योगाभ्यास में संलग्न हो गए । प्रात: काल का हर कोई अपने – अपने ढंग से लाभ उठाने लगा ।

I usually get up 5.30 a.m. and go for a morning walk with my grandfather. He takes me through the nearby fields and points out the different coloured birds to me. Thus I can now identify many birds all by myself.

We then make our way to the nearby park. My grandfather takes a short rest on the bench while I play on the cool, dew-filled grass. The flowers in the park look very beautiful and fresh in the early morning sun.

Then we make our way back home through the tree-lined streets. There is no traffic on the roads that early in the morning. Only some morning walkers like us are there to give us company. One can hear the chirping of birds very well in that silence.
