The Doctoral Programme in Management at IIM Bodh Gaya is a full-time residential programme. The programme aims to foster high-quality researchers, innovative thinkers, and touchstone academics. The programme offers the chance to delve into multidisciplinary research in the domain of management education. Its purpose is to imbue learners with the necessary analytical and research skills required for a career in academics, management, and industry. In this spirit, the programme is run within an academically poignant environment that aid research scholars hone their intellectual tendencies. The programme also aims at producing excellence in publishing high standard research output.

IIM Bodh Gaya will provide scholarship to full time Research Students (Ph.D.). It will cover all academic expenses (consisting of tuition, computer, library fees) and hostel fee.

Scholarship

  • Stipend till Comprehensive Exam: Rs. 32,800/- per month
  • Stipend post Comprehensive Exam: Rs. 35,400/- per month
  • Stipend post approval of Thesis Proposal: Rs. 39,300/- per month

Additional Financial Support

  • Contingency Grant: Rs.25,000 per year for four years
  • To purchase Laptop: Rs.50,000 per one time grant
  • To attend Conferences: Rs.1,75,000 for conferences after completion of Comprehensive Exam (Max within 5 years)
  • Selected candidates need to pay caution deposit of Rs.30,000/- at the time of registration. Caution money is refundable after adjusting dues, if any, at the time of leaving the Institute.
  • Insurance premium will be deducted from the Contingency Grant every year.
  • Contingency Grant will be available for purchase of books, stationary, journal subscription, professional annual membership fee (student rates) of one national and one international society, and travel related to thesis work.
  • The institute reserves the right to charge any other fees from the students or increase the fees if considered necessary. Due notice would be given, while making such changes.
  • Teaching Assistance ship for two courses per year is mandatory and unpaid.

        The Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo University (MSCB University), formerly North Orissa University (NOU) was established by the Government of Orissa, under the Section 32 of the Odisha University Act, 1989 (Act 5 of 1989), vide notification No. 880 dated 13th July 1998. It was carved out of the Utkal University and became operational since 1999 at Takatpur (98.84 acres) of Baripada in the Mayurbhanj District of Odisha as an affiliating university. The University is recognized by the University Grants Commission under Sections 2(f) and 12(B) of UGC Act,1956 with effect from 15th February 2000 and 21st June 2006, respectively. The territorial jurisdiction of the university extends over Mayurbhanj districts of the northern part of Odisha, thickly populated with tribal communities. MSCBU's jurisdiction covers 56 colleges including 2 Autonomous Colleges, 1 Medical College, 1 Teachers' Education (B.Ed.) College along with 26 P.G. Departments running in the University campus and imparting education to a large number of students at the graduate and post-graduate levels. MSCBU is recognized by Bar Council of India, DEC, IGNOU, NCTE and included in the list of Association of Indian Universities and Association of Commonwealth Universities.

The second digit stands for the number of credits assigned to the course

A warm welcome to the modified and updated website of the Centre for East Asian Studies. The East Asian region has been at the forefront of several path-breaking changes since 1970s beginning with the redefining the development architecture with its State-led development model besides emerging as a major region in the global politics and a key hub of the sophisticated technologies. The Centre is one of the thirteen Centres of the School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi that provides a holistic understanding of the region.

Initially, established as a Centre for Chinese and Japanese Studies, it subsequently grew to include Korean Studies as well. At present there are eight faculty members in the Centre. Several distinguished faculty who have now retired include the late Prof. Gargi Dutt, Prof. P.A.N. Murthy, Prof. G.P. Deshpande, Dr. Nranarayan Das, Prof. R.R. Krishnan and Prof. K.V. Kesavan. Besides, Dr. Madhu Bhalla served at the Centre in Chinese Studies Programme during 1994-2006. In addition, Ms. Kamlesh Jain and Dr. M. M. Kunju served the Centre as the Documentation Officers in Chinese and Japanese Studies respectively.

The academic curriculum covers both modern and contemporary facets of East Asia as each scholar specializes in an area of his/her interest in the region. The integrated course involves two semesters of classes at the M. Phil programme and a dissertation for the M. Phil and a thesis for Ph. D programme respectively. The central objective is to impart an interdisciplinary knowledge and understanding of history, foreign policy, government and politics, society and culture and political economy of the respective areas. Students can explore new and emerging themes such as East Asian regionalism, the evolving East Asian Community, the rise of China, resurgence of Japan and the prospects for reunification of the Korean peninsula. Additionally, the Centre lays great emphasis on the building of language skills. The background of scholars includes mostly from the social science disciplines; History, Political Science, Economics, Sociology, International Relations and language.

Several students of the centre have been recipients of prestigious research fellowships awarded by Japan Foundation, Mombusho (Ministry of Education, Government of Japan), Saburo Okita Memorial Fellowship, Nippon Foundation, Korea Foundation, Nehru Memorial Fellowship, and Fellowship from the Chinese and Taiwanese Governments. Besides, students from Japan receive fellowship from the Indian Council of Cultural Relations.

Utkal University Ph.D Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidate must not be employed and should have passed PG in the concerned subject with not less than 55% marks or equivalent grade (50% marks for SC/ST and PWD candidates) from Utkal University or any other University recognized as equivalent by Utkal University
  • Candidate must qualify the entrance test conducted by the university.
  • The candidates who have qualified UGC-CSIR-NET/ GATE/ SLET/ DBT/ ICMR/ ICHR/ ICSSR/ INSPIRE Fellowship of DST/ Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship are not required to qualify the entrance test conducted by the university.
  • Candidates having M.Phil. / M.tech Degree are also not required to qualify the entrance test conducted by the university only if they have been admitted to M.Phil. / Match Program through a written / interview test.
  •  For admission to PhD in Technology and PhD Degree in Medicine and Dental discipline the eligibility of the scholar and supervisor shall be determined as per norms laid down in the statutes and guideline of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE)/ as per norms laid down in the statutes of the University or guidelines of MCI (Clause 5.1 of PhD Regulation) respectively.

  • Admission to Ph.D. programme will be made on the basis of qualifying degree marks followed by interview i.e., 40% career + 40% written test + 20% viva-voce.
  • Selection of the candidates, qualified in the National level tests like UGC-NET, GATE, SLET, ICPR, ICSSR, ICHR, etc. is done on the basis of an interview.

Hostel facility: The university provides separate hostel facility for boys and girls. There are six boy’s hostels and four for girls. The hostels have the facilities of regular newspapers, periodicals common mess.

The candidates can apply online by registering himself/herself to the university website. Candidate must log in to the website with the user ID and password generated at the time of registration and must follow the following steps:

  • Fill in all the important details correctly.
  • Submit the application fee of  Rs.1500/- to apply for Ph.D. course through credit / debit card / internet banking of any bank accompanied by the generation of e-receipt

Note: The reference number of the e-receipt will be required to input while filling up online application form.

  • After submission of application form, the candidate can download the Admit Card.
  • Candidate must keep a copy of the Admit Card /application form for future reference.
  • Candidate must send/submit hard copy of filled in application form along with recent passport size photographs and relevant documents to the Head of the Department before last date either in person/by post
  • Mark sheets and Certificates of all examinations.
  • C.L.C. and Conduct Certificate from the institution last attended.
  • SC/ST Certificate from the competent authority (MP / MLA / Collector / ADM / SDO / Local Gazetted Revenue Officer not below the rank of Deputy Collector or Tahasildar ) by candidates of those categories.
  • PH certificate physically challenged students and ID card issued by District Welfare Officer / Community Development Officer / Social Welfare Department of State Government) by the physically challenged candidates.
  • Sports and Games Certificate of participation are required for quota and special weightage consideration, from the competent Authority (Director of Sports / Sports Council of the Utkal University) countersigned by the Principal / HOD of the college / department by the candidates interested to apply under the said category.
  • Certificate shall be produced from the Rajya / Zilla Sainik Board by the applicants interested to apply under Ex/In-service quota.
  • Original application fee e-receipt.
  • Three passport size photographs (one to be fixed in the application form and two more copies to be attached with the form).

The PhD in Business Administration grounds students in the disciplinary theories and research methods that form the foundation of an academic career. Jointly administered by HBS and GSAS, the program has four areas of study: Accounting and Management , Marketing , Strategy , and Technology and Operations Management . The remaining years of the program are spent conducting independent research, working on co-authored publications, and writing the dissertation. Students join these programs from a wide range of backgrounds, from consulting to engineering. Many applicants possess liberal arts degrees, as there is not a requirement to possess a business degree before joining the program

The PhD in Business Economics provides students the opportunity to study in both Harvard’s world-class Economics Department and Harvard Business School. Throughout the program, coursework includes exploration of microeconomic theory, macroeconomic theory, probability and statistics, and econometrics. While some students join the Business Economics program directly from undergraduate or masters programs, others have worked in economic consulting firms or as research assistants at universities or intergovernmental organizations.

The PhD program in Health Policy (Management) is rooted in data-driven research on the managerial, operational, and strategic issues facing a wide range of organizations. Coursework includes the study of microeconomic theory, management, research methods, and statistics. The backgrounds of students in this program are quite varied, with some coming from public health or the healthcare industry, while others arrive at the program with a background in disciplinary research

The PhD program in Organizational Behavior offers two tracks: either a micro or macro approach. In the micro track, students focus on the study of interpersonal relationships within organizations and the effects that groups have on individuals. Students in the macro track use sociological methods to examine organizations, groups, and markets as a whole, including topics such as the influence of individuals on organizational change, or the relationship between social missions and financial objectives. Jointly administered by HBS and GSAS, the program includes core disciplinary training in sociology or psychology, as well as additional coursework in organizational behavior.

The Doctor of Philosophy degree in business administration (Ph.D.) is a scholarly, research-based program with a professional orientation. Requirements.

Applicants must provide scores on the Graduate Management Admission Test or the GRE Test taken within the last five years, and provide three letters of recommendation, two from academic references, which attest to the individual’s academic potential and ability for achievement. The applicant must also submit a personal statement of goals, approximately two to three pages, on how the completion of the doctoral program will assist in achieving personal and professional career goals.

This course will provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the environmental issues, institutions, opportunities, challenges, problems and managerial processes that are unique to international business. Both the micro and macro contexts in which international business is conducted will be examined.

This course is designed to provide an in-depth understanding of the key issues of international financial management. Topics covered include balance of payments, interest rates, international capital flows/markets and asset pricing, foreign exchange risk management, and international capital budgeting. Prerequisites: FIN 737/FIN 837.

This course deals with various strategic options available to businesses operating in an international environment. It explores the literature and case materials on multinational companies and the theories and concepts relevant to the analysis of international strategic decisions. Prerequisites: Permission of the instructor.

In these interventions, health informatics systems and analyses of data are used. Offers students an opportunity to engage in data analytic exercises to investigate the underlying design and implementation of health informatics systems used in patient engagement initiatives. To receive a master’s degree at Northern Arizona University, you must complete a planned group of courses from one or more subject areas, consisting of at least 30 units of graduate-level courses. Many master’s degree programs require more than 30 units. You must additionally complete:

  • All graduate work with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0.

Solutions should be supported by relevant analysis and decision model selection. Ethics and Social Responsibility: MBAs can demonstrate the ability to identify ethical dilemmas and be able to recognize and evaluate alternative courses of action. Global and Business Environment Awareness: MBAs are able to apply a global perspective to the business environment and management issues facing enterprises engaged in international operations. Professional Self-Management Skills: MBAs should display a professional demeanor through confidence, courtesy, appearance, and a proactive approach to work and career. Individual program admission requirements over and above admission to NAU are required.

  • The MBA Admissions Committee takes a holistic approach to candidate evaluation with consideration of academic ability, leadership qualities, communication and interpersonal skills, relevant professional experience, potential for career growth, and motivation for success. No particular undergraduate major is necessary for students applying to the MBA program. Instead, candidates must demonstrate competency in background business subjects if they do not have a foundational business background. Typically, this is a full-time, cohort-based MBA program that begins in the summer.  Under exceptional circumstances, and with the approval of the Graduate Coordinator, students are allowed to enroll in the full-time MBA program on a part-time basis. In such cases, students are allowed to work 20 hours per week as against 10 hours per week for the full-time students.
  • All applicants will conduct a review of their previous coursework and professional experience in consultation with the graduate coordinator and identify whether additional foundation courses are necessary for the students’ future program success, particularly if additional foundation courses in business and math are necessary for the students’ future program success.  Foundation courses are considered part of the program of study, and must be successfully completed before enrollment in MBA core or elective courses.

Accelerated Bachelor's to Master's Program

This program is available as an Accelerated Undergraduate/Graduate Plan wherein a student may start a master's degree while simultaneously completing their bachelor's degree.

Students enrolled at the Flagstaff campus for both undergraduate and graduate programs are eligible to complete the Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and start a Master of Business Administration at NAU.

  • Students must apply to the master's program by the graduate program's application deadline, meet all admissions requirements listed in the policy Accelerated Bachelor's to Master's Programs , as well as the admissions requirements for the specified master's plan to be considered for admission. Admission to programs is competitive and qualified applicants may be denied because of limits on the number of students admitted each year. Be sure to speak with the Master's Program Director/Coordinator regarding your interest in the accelerated plan.

Students accepted into the Accelerated Program should complete the same requirements for the graduate degree as defined above.
