My House Essay 300 Words

A home holds a special place in our hearts, for it’s where we truly live and thrive. It’s a fundamental need for all of us, and we design our homes to suit our unique needs, using materials like wood, cement, iron, mortar, and bricks.

Speaking of my home, I consider myself truly blessed to reside in the serene Adarsh colony of Gorakhpur. Ours is a modest abode, as we belong to a middle-class family. But within these walls, our family thrives, comprising my dear father, caring mother, my three beloved sisters, and our ever-smiling grandmother.

Inside, our home offers us two bedrooms, a spacious veranda, a well-equipped kitchen, a cozy living room, a convenient bathroom, and a charming little garden outside, which also doubles as a garage. My father takes it upon himself to ensure our home gets a fresh coat of paint and regular maintenance every year. Right in front of our house, there’s an empty plot adorned with various trees and plants, enhancing the beauty of our surroundings.

The three of us sisters share one room, painted in our favorite shade of blue, a space we utilize for our studies. We take pride in keeping our room spotlessly clean. My mother, a stickler for cleanliness, extends her touch of orderliness to the entirety of our home, both inside and out.

Though we might be a small family, our home radiates with happiness. It’s a haven that envelops me in a feeling of security and comfort, a place where my fondest childhood memories were crafted. During festivals and special occasions, our home undergoes a magical transformation as we adorn it with decorations, making it even more enchanting.

In Conclusion

My home is my sanctuary, the ultimate place for relaxation and contentment. The very mention of it fills my heart with warmth and affection. It’s a dwelling brimming with positivity and blessings, all thanks to the loving souls that make up my wonderful family, who transform it into a beautiful abode.

My House Essay 500 Words

A home is a special place that provides comfort to all who reside in it. This is because a home is brimming with love and vitality. Just like anyone fortunate, I too have a home and a caring family. In this essay about my home, I will describe its characteristics and share its significance in my life.

A Peaceful Place I Call Home

Nestled within the heart of the city lies my beloved home. It’s not overly spacious, nor is it too petite; rather, it’s just the right size for my family and me. Our household consists of my father, mother, sister, and grandparents. What makes our dwelling particularly special is its vintage character, as it’s been passed down through generations.

Despite its age, our home stands resilient and strong. It boasts six rooms, each with a unique touch that reflects the individuality of its occupant. For instance, my elder sister, a passionate music enthusiast, has adorned her walls with posters featuring her favorite musicians, including BTS and RM.

The centerpiece of our home is the spacious living room, boasting lofty ceilings. Here, we still cherish the vintage sofa set that my grandmother received as a wedding gift. Adjoining it, you’ll find antique relics like an old television and radio, both of which my grandmother continues to use to this day.

My personal sanctuary lies just next door – my bedroom. It’s my most cherished space, housing all the things I hold dear. Notably, my pet guinea pig resides in a cozy cage here. Additionally, our storage room is a repository of items we no longer employ but can’t quite bring ourselves to part with.

Stepping outside, our front lawn boasts a charming garden. It’s here that my mother tends to her kitchen garden, a labor of love where she cultivates various seeds, introducing new varieties each month to enhance our culinary experiences.

Yet, the fondest memories I hold dear are tethered to our terrace. This spacious outdoor haven is adorned with an array of flourishing plants. It’s witnessed countless joyous family moments and serves as a playground when my cousins come to visit. As a result, every nook and cranny of my home carries a special place in my heart.

In the course of life, I’ve come to a profound realization – not everyone enjoys the same kind of home as I do. Some have considerably less, and sadly, some have no home at all. This awareness has deepened my sense of gratitude and appreciation for the place I fondly call home. I understand that not everyone is fortunate enough to have a good home and a loving family, and for this, I feel truly blessed. Appreciation Towards My Home The reason I hold my home in such high regard is that, as I journey through life, I know that I will look back on the cherished memories I’ve created here with warmth and nostalgia. The simple act of reminiscing about those moments will be all the more special due to the consistent sense of safety and security that my home has always provided. It genuinely is an ideal place to live.

In conclusion

My home occupies a unique and cherished place in my heart because it instills in me a profound sense of belonging, regardless of the circumstances. It aids me in comprehending my role in the world and my connection to the vast universe. For this reason, I am profoundly thankful to have a place that I can wholeheartedly call my own.

Houses are the structures built by human beings for dwelling. There are different kinds of houses constructed according to the climatic conditions and availability of space. Houses can be apartments, single-family houses, bungalows, cabins, etc. It depends upon the needs and financial availability of people.

Concept of House

The need for shelter has been observed from an early age. The early men used to live in caves for shelter and protection. Since life was unorganized and non-systematic during that period. The scenario started changing as the need of man started increasing. It was the necessity only which gave rise to such advancements. People need houses to live with their family members.

The construction of a house must be done in a sensible way either it is a smaller or larger one. The creation of a house depends upon needs and imagination. Thus we can see that renovation in the structuring of the house goes on according to the requirements.

I am living in a 1 BHK flat in Delhi, along with my family members. There are four members in my family. Since we are living in a metro city, we get small houses in large rents. We live in a small house not fitting according to the family requirements but the care and affection of family never made us realize the space. There is only one bedroom so we two children have accommodated ourselves in the living area.

We have a proper kitchen, washroom, and a small balcony too. Our house is painted and remains clean always. We do not have much space but it is enough for our small family. We have a park in front of our apartment, which provides a good view. We also have a roof and sometimes we go there for getting good air. I have a small home, but it is properly managed and I love my place.

There is a lot of problem in metro cities if a person is having a larger family. The big flats are costly and thus people are compelled to live in small areas and are more prone to health-related problems due to poor housing.

However, a partial credit of it goes to the discipline that my parents have instilled in both of us. My parents have gone to a great length to procure some rare variety of plants for it. My mother loves to read and cook. It is not surprising therefore that my home is full of books, the aroma of cooked food, and decorative objects. My sister loves the sound of music. As far as I am concerned I am the lazy one of my family. I love watching people. This habit of mine has got me into trouble many times. But I still think that by observing people I do not commit the same mistakes that they do. My home is the only refuge in the whole world where I feel safe.

My Dream House- An Essay

I always imagine how my future house will be. A home is a place surrounded by the people one loves. A house is not made beautiful by its furniture or decor, but by the people that live inside it. My dream house should be a house that I can share with my family when I grow old. I always dream of a wooden house in the hilly areas. My dream house should be the one facing a small river. Through the windows, I could see the sun setting and disappearing into the mountains. My dream house would have a small garden where I will grow my own vegetables and fruits.

The house that I fancy would be considerably big with four rooms and a spacious common area. My dream house should be comfortable for my parents, grandparents and siblings. The house should be equipped with all the modern amenities. It should have a big TV with a home theatre system and a Playstation attached to it. The walls of the house will have light colours that will make it appear bright. There will be sufficient light bulbs and lamps in every room. I also dream of a chandelier in the guest room and a big sofa where everyone will sit and enjoy watching TV together. My grandparents love reading. I wish that my dream house will have a reading space with lots of books.

I have a 3-year old pet dog called Tiger. I also want to have a small yet cosy space in my house for Tiger where he can sleep and relax when he grows old. The house will have beautiful interiors and will have all the facilities like a modern kitchen, three bathrooms, a staircase leading to the terrace, ACs, etc. My dream home should be the one where we all can live happily and comfortably.

Essay On My House For Class 1, 2 & 3 Kids

Shaili Contractor

Key Points To Remember When Writing An Essay On My House For Lower Primary Classes

5 lines on my house, 10 lines on my house in english, a paragraph on my house for children, short essay on my house in english for kids, long essay on my house for kids, what will your 1st, 2nd or 3rd grader learn from this essay on my house.

Everybody has a strong connection to their house. The house’s structure, size, special features, elements of beautification and even the family members residing in the house make each home unique and special. Essay topics such as describing “My House” are frequently asked in class as part of writing exercises. Essay writing is an important skill that children need to develop from an early age. My House is a relatively easy topic as children can gather lots of thoughts and details about their house creatively. Let us guide your child to write an essay on My House for classes 1, 2 and 3 in a few single lines, a short paragraph, and a long paragraph.

Here are some tips for writing an essay on My House:

  • An essay on My House can involve different details about the house, such as its size, location, type, and architectural style.
  • When describing the house, you can talk about how the different features make you feel.
  • Make the features more appealing by giving the readers a feel of them.
  • Long essays should have introductory and concluding lines.
  • Talk about what you feel about your house, your favourite features, and why you think your house is the best.

Five-line essay for class 1 is the best way for your child to learn how to write. Here is an example of a five-line essay:

  • My house is my most favourite place in the world.
  • I live with my mother and father in my house.
  • My house has three floors and lots of stairs.
  • We have a garden outside our house with beautiful flowers.
  • I love staying in my house.

A longer essay for classes 1 & 2 sets the foundation for writing skills in children by gathering more ideas and including more details. Check out this example of a 10-line essay on My House:

  • My house is a beautiful three-storied building situated in the suburbs of the city.
  • It is located in a green and peaceful neighbourhood.
  • We have gardens in the front and back of the house.
  • When you step inside the house, you will enter a spacious living room.
  • Our house has five rooms. My sister and I each have a separate room.
  • My room has a balcony that faces the neighbouring park.
  • I spend time on my balcony every evening and enjoy watching the sunset with my grandpa.
  • We have a kitchen in the house that connects to the garden in the back.
  • We grow all types of herbs and vegetables in the kitchen garden.
  • My house is the best one in the whole world.

Short paragraph essays are a good place to learn how to write longer essays. Here is an example of a short essay on My House:

Every person needs a house to stay in. I live in a cozy house in the middle of the city with my parents and younger brother. Our house is just one street away from the playground where I go to play cricket. Our house has two bedrooms, one living room, and one kitchen. My brother and I share the same room in the house. Since my house is close to the main road, we find it easy to go from our house to any part of the city. We have a terrace in the house where my brother and I often play. I love my house because it is a great place to live.

Here is an example of a short essay on my house. These essays are the building blocks to learning how to write long essays:

My beautiful house is on the outskirts of the city. We have built our house on a big plot with lots of garden space and greenery to enjoy. My house has three bedrooms and a living room, along with a kitchen and a dining room. All of this is surrounded by a high compound wall on which we grow decorative creepers.

Our house is spacious and also well-lit since we have huge windows in all the living spaces. When we sit for our breakfast every day, we enjoy a wonderful view of the backyard with the lawn and flowers. Different materials such as bricks, cement, tiles, marbles, and wood were used to build the house.

My house is the best place in the world, and my friends love to come here and play with me. We have plenty of space to play all the games and don’t have to go out on the street.

A long descriptive essay about my house can be tricky to write because children need to write creatively after gathering several ideas. However, children can write a good essay by going about it systematically and maintaining the flow. Here is an example of an essay for class 3:

I live in a gorgeous house inside a colony in a small town next to the city. Our house was constructed recently, and we moved in a few months ago. It is a two-storied building with four rooms, a living room, kitchen, dining room, terrace, and a basement. We have plenty of space within the compound to build a garden. We have planted many different types of flowering plants and vegetables in our garden.

My room is on the first floor with a big balcony that has a panoramic view. It also enables me to set up my telescope and observe the night sky comfortably. We have a big kitchen with a door that opens to the garden in the back. My parents take their tea on the lawn every evening in the kitchen garden.

My favourite part of my house is our terrace. It is a vast open space on the roof of our house which is nicely decorated for spending leisure time. There is a large swing on the terrace, on which I love to spend my evenings reading my favourite books. Sometimes I also call my friends over, and we play catch on the terrace. At night, the open terrace is breathtaking to look at. I can see all the stars and the moon as well when the skies are clear. I like to lie down and count the stars during such clear nights.

Our house is located in a very friendly and nice locality. There is a small market near my house from where my father brings fruits and vegetables every morning. We also have very good neighbours. They are kind and generous people who are ready to help at any time. I love my new house and all its beautiful features. I enjoy spending time in my house more than anywhere else.

From these examples of compositions on My House, children can gather plenty of ideas on how to write an essay on their own. This essay is also a great opportunity for your children to express their thoughts and feelings about their home. It also helps them observe their house in better detail than ever before, as they write their observations in words.

Our house has a special place in our hearts. It is the place where we feel safe and secure. From the examples above, children can pick up ideas and craft their own compositions on the topic.

Narrative Essay

August 19, 2020 by sastry

Narrative Essay: A narrative essay is a composition written about a personal experience, real or imaginary. Whenever someone recounts an event or tells a story, he or she is using narration. A narrative essay may be entertaining or informative.

Looking for an easy way to Learning of  English Grammar Exercises for Class 9 ICSE . You have to learn basic English Grammer topics like Tenses, Verbs, Nouns, etc… In this article, we will review the best English Grammer Topics and compare them against each other.

The Narrative Essay

  • Is told from a particular point of view
  • Makes and supports a point
  • Is filled with precise details
  • Uses vivid verbs and modifiers
  • Uses conflict and sequence as does any story
  • May use dialogue

Areas of Narrative Composition

  • Historical events or legends, e.g., the Reign of the East India Company, the Story of Meera Bai, etc.
  • Biographies, e.g., Life History of Gandhiji, Shivaji, etc.
  • Incidents, e.g., a building on fire, celebration, a street quarrel, a festival, etc.
  • Some accidents or natural disasters or calamities, e.g., Tsunami, earthquake, flood, drought, ship-wreck, etc.
  • Journeys or voyages; a real or imaginary story.
  • Visits to places of interest.

Guidelines 1. The order will be a beginning, middle and an end. Keep this order while narrating. Chronological arrangement is essential. 2. The beginning must be impressive and arresting. It may be through some action, or with unusual details, or with a dialogue. 3. You may use specific selection of anecdotes, humorous quotes, or dialogues in your narration. 4. The characters if any, should be clearly etched so that the reader is able to visualize them. 5. The scene or the setting should be well defined. 6. Long, irrelevant and uninteresting details should be eliminated. 7. Narrative essays are normally written in first person. 8. A definite conclusion has to be reached. The reader should not feel that you are ending your composition just because you cannot carry it on any further. A surprise ending is an added attraction to your composition. But do it if you can deal with it deftly.

Sample Essays

1. You have been living in your ancestral house since your birth. The house is acquired by the government because the Delhi Metro line has to pass from there. Narrate the incidence and describe your feelings about moving out of this house.

My grandfather came into the country from what had just been named Pakistan in 1947 with his parents. In return for the land that he had left behind there, he had been allotted some property in what was now the capital of independent India – New Delhi. On this land, over four years, he built for his family a lovely new house. Until last week it was the only home I had ever known, and now it is to be demolished.

Over the last few years sweeping changes have taken place in Delhi; with the advent of the Delhi Metro, the very geography of the city has been altered. Suddenly, it has become possible to get from one end of the city to the other in just over an hour, and that too in air-conditioned comfort.

As time goes by, the spread of the Metro is only slated to expand. It will soon cut through entirely new localities and neighborhoods as it makes it easier than ever before to get from place to place in the city. Unfortunately, my ancestral house happens to be in one of those neighborhoods.

Our house happened to be right where a new line of the Delhi Metro was soon supposed to be. Since it was, of course, impossible for both to simultaneously occupy the space, the house had to go. The Government bought it from us for a princely sum, and while this allowed us to buy another house elsewhere, it could do nothing to alleviate the pain we felt at shifting out. That we were in some, small way assisting the growth of public transportation in the city was no consolation at all.

As we packed our belongings and began moving our luggage out, there was no one who was not crying a little bit. Four generations of my family had lived in this house, and it was suffused with the memories of all the time we had spent here. I myself had grown up in its various rooms, corridors, and gardens, and was heart- broken at the thought that very soon it would cease to even exist. Still, a new house meant new rooms and a new neighborhood to explore, and that was a heartening thought for the time being.

2. Your father is an avid traveller and loves to seek new experiences. Narrate your experiences of one special trip that you took along with your father.

Traveling has been my father’s longtime passion. He finds exploring unfamiliar places, meeting new people and getting to know different cultures exceptionally inspiring. Therefore, by the age of 12, I had already been to many exotic places: Turkey, Laos, Thailand, Japan, Egypt, Malaysia, New Zealand, Australia and Cuba. Recently my father had to go Ukraine for work. He wanted to take us with him and since my younger brother and I had holidays during that period, the whole family went for the trip.

I did not know what to expect from Ukraine since I knew little about it. But somehow I knew that it would be an intriguing experience due to the spontaneous nature of my travel.

Ukraine turned out to be completely different from any place I had visited so far. Kiev, the capital city, appeared unexpectedly well-groomed, green and wealthy. Lots of bridges across the Dnieper River, a large number of outstanding parks, a couple of botanical gardens, and flowers everywhere you go.

The Carpathian Mountains in Western Ukraine are precious and authentic, with small distant villages and little country houses that seem like modern progress will never reach them. The people of Western Ukraine amazed me as well, especially the elderly – amiable, positive and active.

From the Carpathians, we traveled to Lviv – a wonderful medieval city that is somewhat similar to Prague, yet it is special in its atmosphere: 800-year-old  castles, wooden churches, Gothic catholic temples and palaces, flowers at every corner and on every window seal, original block pavement streets of the Old City (Stare Misto).

Lviv is a magical city and it fueled me with inspiration to see the rest of the country. Next we went to Zaporizhzhya (quite a tongue twister) – an eastern city with two thousand years of history. The city is built on two banks of the Dnipro River, and has an island in the middle – Khortitsa – the biggest river island in the world.

The city itself seemed to me to be still Soviet-like in its spirit and atmosphere, so it was quite interesting to take photos of their famous dam with the huge Lenin statue pointing at it, and the factories that were once the pride of the USSR and, amazingly, still successfully functioning for export purposes nowadays.

Our next stop was Crimea – a big heart-shaped peninsula that is washed by two seas – the Black Sea and the Azov Sea (the shallowest in the world). Crimea has indescribable mountains, fantastic crystal caves and scenic deep lakes. It is a picturesque place – so green, so virginal, so unlike anything I have seen before.

Ukraine was a true discovery for me, and one of those times when your expectations are nothing like what you see. If you should ask me what place I can recommend to those avid and blase travelers who seem to have seen it all, I would say without a second of hesitation: “Go to Ukraine! Whatever you will expect this will still amaze and astonish you.”

500+ Words My Hometown Essay

There is always a place one likes to call home. A place that isn’t perfect but brings back a bundle of memories, surrounds you with familiar crowds, those same buildings with a few more additions on every visit, the same public problems and an acquainted way of dealing with the locals. All these make us give it more importance than the rest. So, here, I will be describing my hometown.

My hometown is Hamirpur, Uttar Pradesh. It is a small town where I was born and grew up in my childhood. I haven’t spent much time in my hometown as my father got the opportunity to join the defence service. But, I have lovely memories of my childhood. Hamirpur is situated on the bank of the river Yamuna and it meets the water requirement of the area. Its water is also used for irrigation purposes which makes the soil more fertile and rich for agricultural activities. The river sand is also used for construction. Lots of trucks full of sand transport the sand to different places. In my childhood days, we used to swim across the river and play on its shore during the summer season.

I think Hamirpur is a great place for me for many reasons. First of all, my hometown has all types of seasons. One can enjoy hot summers, chilly winters and rainy monsoons. Since the weather is so great here, one can enjoy the taste of different kinds of food, and vegetables in different seasons. Each season demands a different lifestyle. For example, during summer, people prefer to wear cotton and light colour clothes to save themselves from hot temperatures. Whereas during winter, people wear woollen clothes and jackets of different colours. Hamirpur is well known for farming. We grow different types of crops like wheat, rice, millet etc.

I have a temple in my hometown. I used to go to the temple every Thursday with my family. It has a serene atmosphere, green fields and a pollution-free environment. If I go there, I feel like it is heaven for me, and I definitely say that it is just not enough to see the beauty of my hometown in the rainy season; you have to experience it yourself.

To write a nice essay yourself, close your eyes, take a deep breath, let it out slowly, and then visualise your hometown. Try to trace your movements around it, your interactions with it on a family and friends level. Imagine the wind, the sound of the gardens, even bees and flowers etc. Then start writing.

Essay on “My Home” Complete Essay for Class 10, Class 12 and Graduation and other classes.

Best 3 essay on ” my home”.

Essay No. 01

I live in a small house. It has two-bedrooms, one dining-cum-drawing room, one kitchen, and one pantry beside a bathroom and toilet.

My home is situated on Lawrence Road. It lies in the J.K colony. Previously, it was an ordinary locality, but now it has turned into a posh area.

My parents share one bed-room and I have the other bed-room. We have no separate study room. Thus, I have to study in my room or in the drawing-room. But, I think, my room is quite all right for my requirements, though it also contains a wardrobe in a part of it where the clothes .of all the three members of the family are put.

My house is made of brick, though marble houses are now quite common in this locality. It is an old one and needs frequent repairs. My father says that he will one day pull it down and build a new one in its place.

I, however, love my house and don’t want that it should ever be pulled down. I have, indeed, grown obsessed with it, so to say.

Although my house is made of brick it is well-plastered and has beautiful smooth floors and walls. The walls are whitewashed and the doors and windows are well-polished.

The house has a courtyard on either side. Behind our back court-yard, there is another house. On both sides also we have houses of neighbors. Thus, our house opens on one side only. On this side, we have a high boundary wall which keeps us almost shut off from whatever may be happening in the street outside.

Since we have no car and have a scooter only, we have no parking problem. We park the scooter in the outer verandah and thus it remains protected against sun and shower.

We are very happy with this house. Thus, I can say that happiness depends upon the attitude of a family and not on the size of the house or other possessions that they have.

Essay No. 02

The saying ‘East or West, home is the best’ is true in many ways. Home offers affection and security. My home to me is the best place in the world, where I live with my mother, father, a brother and a sister.

I belong to a middle-class family. My home is a cozy little flat on the 1st floor in Dwarka. Our drawing-cum-dining room is tastefully decorated. It has a TV set, a sofa, a refrigerator, and a dining table. The decoration pieces remind me of our visits to different pieces. There are two bedrooms.

One is used by my parents and the other is shared by the three of us. Not only the room but the study-table is also shared by us.

Ours is a small and happy family, where every member has consideration for the needs and comforts of each other. We all share household work, too. Our mornings are usually busy as all are in a great hurry to complete their work. But either it’s breakfast, lunch, or dinner time, we all have it together. At that moment we share all that we had enjoyed or suffered during the day.

We always keep our home clean and tidy. Everything is kept in its proper place. I like my home, very much.

Essay No. 03

Home is the word that gives solace to each and every soul in this universe. It carries love and life for the people living away from their homes. It’s rightly said ‘east or west, home is the best’. Like every fortunate child, I have my loving parents and one brother. My mother is affection personified. My father is a caring as well as a disciplined man. I have tremendous regard for both of them. If ever my mother gets angry with me, I feel restless till I make my mother happy again. My father is a quiet person but at times when he has spare time, he plays with us and tells us many interesting stories. He has laid a very strong moral foundation of our character. And my brother is the cutest creature I’ve ever seen. He is so small but he is quite capable of expressing his concern for me. His giggles make me laugh even when I am in a serious mood. When I think of my home, I am filled with gratitude to God. May God bless them all.

Essay on My School for Students and Children

500+ words essay on my school.

Education is an essential part of our lives. We are nothing without knowledge, and education is what separates us from others. The main step to acquiring education is enrolling oneself in a school. School serves as the first learning place for most of the people. Similarly, it is the first spark in receiving an education. In this essay on my school, I will tell you why I love my school and what my school has taught me.

We have all been to school and we have loved each and every moment we have spent over there as those were the building blocks of our lives. A school is a place where students are taught the fundamentals of life, as well as how to grow and survive in life. It instils in us values and principles that serve as the foundation for a child’s development.

My school is my second home where I spend most of my time. Above all, it gives me a platform to do better in life and also builds my personality. I feel blessed to study in one of the most prestigious and esteemed schools in the city. In addition, my school has a lot of assets which makes me feel fortunate to be a part of it. Let us look at the essay on my school written below.

essay on my school

Why I Love My School?

From kindergarten through primary and secondary school, and subsequently, to faculty, school is a place where we always study, grow, and establish ourselves, socialize, be a friend, help others, and love and be loved. School is a buddy that will accompany us from the beginning of our youth till the conclusion of our lives. At school, we share all of our pleasures and sorrows, and we constantly rely on one another. This is made possible through the friendships we share. They assist us in effortlessly overcoming difficulties, sharing moments of enjoyment together, and looking forward to new paths.

My school strikes the perfect balance between modern education and vintage architecture. The vintage buildings of my school never fail to mesmerize me with their glorious beauty. However, their vintage architecture does not mean it is outdated, as it is well-equipped with all the contemporary gadgets. I see my school as a lighthouse of education bestowing knowledge as well as ethical conduct upon us.

Teachers have the power to make or break a school. The teaching staff is regarded as the foundation of any educational society. It is their efforts to help kids learn and understand things that instil good habits and values in their students. While some concepts are simple to grasp, others necessitate the use of a skilled teacher to drive the home the idea with each pupil.

In contrast to other schools, my school does not solely focus on academic performance. In other words, it emphasizes on the overall development of their students. Along with our academics, extra-curricular activities are also organized at our school. This is one of the main reasons why I love my school as it does not measure everyone on the same scale. Our hardworking staff gives time to each child to grow at their own pace which instils confidence in them. My school has all the facilities of a library , computer room, playground, basketball court and more, to ensure we have it all at our disposal.

For me, my school is more than simply an educational institution; it is also my second family, which I established during my childhood. A family of wonderful friends, outstanding teachers, and fond school memories. I adore my school because it is where I learn how to be a good citizen and how to reach my goals. School is the only place where we make friends without judging them. We feel comfortable spending time with those close friends no matter what the situation.

What has My School Taught Me?

If someone asked me what I have learned from my school, I won’t be able to answer it in one sentence. For the lessons are irreplaceable and I can never be thankful enough for them. I learned to share because of my school. The power of sharing and sympathy was taught to me by my school. I learned how to be considerate towards animals and it is also one of the main reasons why I adopted a pet.

my home essay for class 9

School is an excellent place to learn how to be an adult before entering the real world. Those abilities pay dividends whether you choose to be the bigger person in an argument or simply complete your domestic tasks. When you open your mind to new ideas, you gain a lot of influence in society. Picking up unexpected hobbies on your own will teach you more about what you like to do than simply completing things for a grade.

A school is a place where I developed my artistic skills which were further enhanced by my teachers. Subsequently, it led me to participate in inter-school completions through which I earned various awards. Most importantly, my school taught me how to face failures with grace and never give up on my ambitions, no matter what happens.

Schools also offer a variety of extracurricular activities such as Scouts and Guides, sports, N.C.C., skating, school band, acting, dancing, singing, and so on. Our principal also used to give us a short lecture every day for about 10 minutes about etiquette, character development, moral education, respecting others, and gaining excellent values. As a result, I can claim that what I am today is solely due to my school, which is the best institution in my opinion.

Teamwork is an important ability that schools teach. Schools are frequently the first places where youngsters have the opportunity to collaborate with children who are different from them. Collaboration is essential for the team and individual success. Students are taught that the success of a team depends on each individual component functioning together.

To sum it up, studying in one of the respected schools has helped me a lot personally. I will always be indebted to my school for shaping my personality and teaching me invaluable lessons. It has given me friends for life and teachers that I will always look up to. I aspire to carry on the values imbibed by my school to do well in life and make it proud.

WNBA 2024 rookie tracker: Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese, more

The WNBA is back after a monthlong break for the Olympics. All eyes are on the playoff push with five weeks remaining in the regular season.

But the most anticipated draft class in league history also continues to draw attention. Caitlin Clark , the No. 1 pick in April, hopes to lead the Indiana Fever back to the postseason for the first time since 2016. And Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso hope to lead their Chicago Sky to the playoffs as well.

Clark and Reese have already etched their names into the record books this season. Clark set the WNBA single-game record with 19 assists , and she is the first rookie in league history to tally a triple-double . Reese set a WNBA record for consecutive double-doubles (15).

We'll continue to track the top rookie performances every game day throughout the season.

Last updated: Aug. 15

my home essay for class 9

Angel Reese , Chicago Sky

Forward | 6-foot-3 | Game log | Stats

Last time out: Reese compiled her league-leading 18th double-double of the season, finishing with 11 points (4-for-14 shooting from field, 3-for-8 from the free throw line) and 15 rebounds (8 offensive). But the Sky suffered a 85-65 loss to the Phoenix Mercury , their worst defeat of the season. With 15 regular-season games left, Reese looks poised to break the rookie record for double-doubles ( Tina Charles had 22 in 2010).

What we learned: It was a forgettable start to the second half for the Sky, who were outscored 30-12 at the end of the first frame -- their worst point differential in any quarter since June 2022 -- and couldn't make up the gap.

With Chennedy Carter sidelined because of illness and Marina Mabrey traded to Connecticut, Chicago's offense stalled for most of the game, managing a 37% clip from the field and 21.1% from 3. With Mabrey gone, the Sky coaching staff needs to find ways fast to help Reese (and Kamilla Cardoso) get going down low if Chicago is to maintain its grasp on a playoff spot. -- Alexa Philippou

my home essay for class 9

Kamilla Cardoso , Chicago Sky

Center | 6-foot-7 | Game log | Stats

Last time out: Cardoso finished with 10 points (5-for-8 shooting), joining Reese and Dana Evans (14 points) as the only Chicago players to reach double figures. She also pulled down five rebounds.

What we learned: While the Chicago bigs had quiet nights offensively, Phoenix's Brittney Griner did not. The three-time Olympian, fresh off a gold medal run in Paris, put up 23 points on 10-for-12 shooting, to go along with 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 blocks. It's the sort of performance coach Teresa Weatherspoon will hope her young posts in Cardoso and Reese can learn from. -- Philippou

my home essay for class 9

Rickea Jackson , Los Angeles Sparks

Forward | 6-foot-2 | Game log | Stats

Last time out: Jackson finished with 13 points (6-for-14 shooting, 1-for-3 from 3) in the Sparks' 103-68 thrashing at the hands of the first-place New York Liberty . It was the first game in which Jackson didn't record a rebound this season and was also one of her higher turnover outings (4), and it was a rough night overall for Los Angeles, which experienced its worst defeat since July 2022.

What we learned: Having to face the best team in the league, one featuring a slew of Olympians who didn't have to shake off any rust from a monthlong break, was a tough draw for the Sparks in their first game back. But they don't have much time to dwell on Thursday's rout with a hungry Chicago team, hoping to rediscover its footing after a blowout loss to Phoenix, heading to town Saturday. -- Philippou

my home essay for class 9

Caitlin Clark , Indiana Fever

Guard | 6-foot | Game log | Stats | Watch: First-half recap

Last time out: Clark had a quiet scoring night (4 points on 2-for-9 shooting, 0-for-7 on 3-pointers) in the WNBA All-Star Game but shined in historic fashion as a facilitator, similar to some of the regular-season games we've seen from her of late. Clark's 10 assists were the most by a rookie in the All-Star Game. The tally also was one shy of tying Sue Bird's All-Star Game record, but the Fever standout said she was OK with falling short of the mark. "That's Sue's record," Clark said. "I can't take that from her. That's my homie."

What we learned: Clark is often one who puts together a 30-piece. But Saturday, the No. 1 draft pick clearly enjoyed watching Arike Ogunbowale -- whom she called the best one-on-one player in the league -- go off for an All-Star Game-record 34 points on 8-for-13 shooting from the arc. "It's so fun," Clark said. "I haven't always been on that side of it where you have a teammate that goes kind of crazy like that."

Clark said at one point she was supposed to be subbed in for Ogunbowale, but Clark wanted to stay on the bench to let the Dallas Wings guard do her thing.

Now Clark is thrilled to make it to the Olympic break. She burst into the postgame news conference room Saturday night exclaiming, "I'm on vacation!" The rookie declined to share where she's traveling to but said she's excited to take a little bit of time away from basketball before preparing for the second half of the regular season. -- Alexa Philippou

Up next: vs. Phoenix Mercury on Aug. 16 (7:30 p.m. ET, ION)

my home essay for class 9

Jacy Sheldon , Dallas Wings

Guard | 5-foot-10 | Game log | Stats

Last time out: Sheldon had a career-high 17 points as the Wings won just their second game since May, beating Atlanta 85-82 Friday. She made 5 of 8 shots from behind the arc and was 6 of 12 from the field overall.

Sheldon added 2 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals as she played 35 minutes. It was a big night for Sheldon, who had been held to 2 points in the Wings' two previous games this week.

What we learned: The Wings ended an 11-game losing streak with a victory over Minnesota on June 27, but then lost their next three before Friday. The Wings rallied to win after trailing to start the fourth quarter; Dallas was 0-13 in that situation previously this season.

Is this the start of a turnaround for Dallas? We'll see, but it could be tough. The Wings have four games left before the All-Star/Olympic break, with the next two on the road in Las Vegas and Phoenix. -- Voepel

Fact-Checking Claims About Tim Walz’s Record

Republicans have leveled inaccurate or misleading attacks on Mr. Walz’s response to protests in the summer of 2020, his positions on immigration and his role in the redesign of Minnesota’s flag.

  • Share full article

Flowers, candles, and various items placed on the street. A big black and white mural of George Floyd is seen in the background.

By Linda Qiu

Since Gov. Tim Walz of Minnesota was announced as the Democratic nominee for vice president, the Trump campaign and its allies have gone on the attack.

Mr. Walz, a former teacher and football coach from Nebraska who served in the National Guard, was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2006 and then as Minnesota’s governor in 2018. His branding of former President Donald J. Trump as “weird” this year caught on among Democrats and helped catapult him into the national spotlight and to the top of Vice President Kamala Harris’s list of potential running mates.

The Republican accusations, which include questions over his military service , seem intended at undercutting a re-energized campaign after President Biden stepped aside and Ms. Harris emerged as his replacement at the top of the ticket. Mr. Trump and his allies have criticized, sometimes inaccurately, Mr. Walz’s handling of protests in his state, his immigration policies, his comments about a ladder factory and the redesign of his state’s flag.

Here’s a fact check of some claims.

What Was Said

“Because if we remember the rioting in the summer of 2020, Tim Walz was the guy who let rioters burn down Minneapolis.” — Senator JD Vance of Ohio, the Republican nominee for vice president, during a rally on Wednesday in Philadelphia

This is exaggerated. Mr. Walz has faced criticism for not quickly activating the National Guard to quell civil unrest in Minneapolis in the summer of 2020 after the murder of George Floyd by a police officer. But claims that he did not respond at all, or that the city burned down, are hyperbolic.

Mr. Floyd was murdered on May 25, 2020, and demonstrators took to the streets the next day . The protests intensified, with some vandalizing vehicles and setting fires. More than 700 state troopers and officers with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources’ mobile response team were deployed on May 26 to help the city’s police officers, according to a 2022 independent assessment by the state’s Department of Public Safety of the response to the unrest.
