‘Biography: WWE Legends’ Season 3, ‘WWE Rivals’ Season 2 Set Premiere Dates at A&E

“Biography: WWE Legends” Season 3 and “WWE Rivals” Season 2 have set their premiere dates on A&E.

“Biography: WWE Legends” will return on Feb. 19 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, followed by “WWE Rivals” at 10 p.m. The two shows will then continue to air back to back on Sundays nights going forward.

Both shows explore the lives and relationships of the most iconic WWE stars of all time. In “Biography: WWE Legends,” viewers learn the stories of superstars and major events through archival footage and interviews. The season premiere will explore the infamous stable the New World Order (NWO), while subsequent episodes will examine Jake “The Snake” Roberts, Chyna, Dusty Rhodes, Kane, and Iron Sheik among others.

In “WWE Rivals,” actor and former WWE writer Freddie Prinze Jr. leadds a roundtable discussion of WWE stars as they delve into the storylines and dynamic characters behind the epic battles that built the WWE. The season begins with Hulk Hogan vs. Andre The Giant, and will continue with “Stone Cold” Steve Austin vs. Bret Hart, Undertaker vs. Mankind, The Rock vs. John Cena, Triple H vs. Batista, Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns, and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin vs. Shawn Michaels.

“Biography: WWE Legends” and “WWE Rivals,” are produced by WWE for A&E Network. Executive producers for WWE are Kevin Dunn and Chris Kaiser. Executive producers for A&E Network are Elaine Frontain Bryant, Brad Abramson, and Jonathan Partridge. A+E Networks holds worldwide distribution rights.

In March 2022, A&E and WWE announced they were expanding their partnership with an order for 130 hours of new programming . All series will be available on demand and to stream on the A&E app and at A&E’s website.

Later this summer, A&E will also premiere a new season of “WWE’s Most Wanted Treasures,” where legends like Booker T, Mick Foley, and Lita will go on the road in search of lost WWE memorabilia.

WWE superstar Roman Reigns made his return to Friday Night Smackdown for the first time since dropping the Universal Championship to Cody Rhodes at Wrestlemania 40, cementing a legendary face turn – something that would have been unthinkable even six months before – and in the process, setting up the next act of the company's longterm storytelling.

After firing the first shots in the simmering Bloodline Civil War at Summerslam the previous Saturday , Reigns made his highly anticipated comeback to WWE programming in a main event segment that witnessed him getting acquainted with his former enforcer Solo Sikoa's new, more dangerous incarnation of the famous faction.

The melee that ended the show offered only a taste of what fans can expect over the next several months or more, as this storyline will likely still be reaching its peak when the rubber hits the road for the build to Wrestlemania 41 at next year's Royal Rumble.

Roman's Smackdown return completed what is already being called one of the most effective face-turns in WWE history . After years of ruling the company as an iron-fisted heel, his defeat at Wrestlemania 39 in Philadelphia signaled an immediate shift. Already, the week after, crowds were chanting " Thank you, Roman ," – and with the introduction of Solo Sikoa's revamped Bloodline, this quickly morphed into " We want Roman ." Now, the "Original Tribal Chief" is back, and the Bloodline Civil War has officially been declared .

Fans will have to wait to hear Reigns cut his first babyface promo in years, but the sight of him in action once more at the end of Friday Night Smackdown was a thrill. Both Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa ate spears from the OTC, though Solo Sikoa managed to avoid a repeat of his Summerslam fate for now, escaping with the "ula fala" necklace that has come to signify true ascendency in the Bloodline storyline. From a business perspective, Roman's comeback was a massive success, setting the stage for WWE to continue its streak of dominant, top-tier work.

How the american nightmare fits into the bloodline saga.

The expectation is that the next big chapter of the Bloodline Civil War will take place at this year's Survivor Series: War Games , with perhaps the unthinkable happening: [Roman] Reigns teaming with [Cody] Rhodes.

Memorably, at the press conference following Wrestlemania 39, Paul Heyman declared that the Bloodline Saga was only in its " third inning. " Over a year later, what could potentially be the final act of the story c ould be underway, as a heroic Roman Reigns seeks to quell the monster he unleashed upon the WWE. In the lead up to his Smackdown return, the possibility of a third match with current champion Cody Rhodes was also hinted at, though it is likely that match won't come until Wrestlemania 41 at least, if not later.

For now, Rhodes' next defense will be against his ally Kevin Owens at Bash in Berlin ; fans wouldn't be wrong to anticipate interference from Solo's Bloodline during the match, as both contestants should continue their prominent roles in the ongoing story. For many, the expectation is that the next big chapter of the Bloodline Civil War will take place at this year's Survivor Series: War Games , with perhaps the unthinkable happening: Reigns teaming with Rhodes a little more than half a year after Cody ended his historic WWE title reign.
